Feature 1 - Grass Tracks 

Promoted as ‘Race of the Year’ was a grass track organised by South Shropshire M.C.C. held on Sunday May 18^th May 1975.

 “Those of us at this meeting today are seeing history in the making. Never before have so many world stars met on grass in this country.”

As it is today, it was then with dedicated people working tirelessly for the benefit of the sport. Some names from the officials list of 1975 are still active club members today – most notably Gordon Lawley. 

“The small band of people that forms the core of the young South Shropshire club has worked virtually day and night for six months to overcome the problems and make their dream a reality.”
