Andy Onion's
Charity Trial
By all accounts a good day
with just over £300 raised for charity, so Andy says a big
thank to all who supported and gave generously.
Results available here.
Our Training
Day
Our training day
was held on Saturday 8th November with 14 riders attending.
It was great to see all abilities thoroughly enjoying
themselves and progressing and developing, both in ability
and confidence as the day went on. A big thank you to the
trainers, Simon Welch and Colin Creese for making the day as
good as it was. Also, our grateful thanks go to landowner,
Will Priestley for permitting us the use of Old Mill Wood
for no cost. Please visit the gallery to see how the
trainers put the riders through their paces.
We have also had a fair amount
of interest for a second training day for Clubman, Inters
and Experts. I am more than willing to organise this if we
have sufficient interest. So far, Dave Cunnington, Clive
Thomas, Mr. Watkins, Jonathon and Andrew Rowlands are
interested. It would be £25.00 for the day with Simon Welch
and possibly Colin Creese or Gary Jenkins. Just let me know
if you wish to be added to the list.

SSMCC Youth
Nationals
C & D Championship Results
here.
A & B Championship Results here.
A huge well done to Iwan
Roberts who took the win at the final round of the National
C & D Championship and that was enough to give him the
overall win of the series. According to Will Minta, the
weather was atrocious and Sam Minta decided enough was
enough but Thomas Minta and Sam Yeomans persevered to the
end. A mention must go to Fred Bailey, too who competed in
his first National.
These young riders (& their families) are extremely
dedicated and talented and it will be interesting to follow
their progress.
Update: SSMCC member Thomas
Minta should be very proud as he finished an extremely
respectable 10th in the overall C Class Championship in his
first year within this age group. Next year should feel a
bit easier, Thomas!
SSMCC member Sam Yeomans
fought tooth and nail all the way with Jack Peace, through
the series in the D Class, Medium Wheel to finish extremely
well placed in 2nd just 12 championship points behind Jack.
Well done Sam and we look forward to following your progress
as you move up into the C Class next year.
SSMCC member Sam Minta
finished 8th in the D Class Small Wheel Class so well done
to you Sam and we look forward to finding out if bikes or
football take precedent next year. Or maybe both!
Moving up the age range
slightly, Jack Welch has also ridden several of the B Class
Championship rounds and was usually inside the top ten
riders in this very competitive class. He finished the
series in 12th position and should be well placed to enjoy
his last year in this class, next year.

Practise Ground
If anyone is looking for some
practise ground, for a small fee of £5.00 per 2 bikes for the
day, you are welcome to use Hamperley Farm. There are
gullies, banks, roots and a wood to practise in. Please
phone 01694 781573 to check for convenient times. Several
people are already taking advantage of this opportunity so
it will be look out when we stage our next event. Chris is
becoming slightly concerned about his O/50 title as his
rival and challenger, Roger Brown has been eyeing up the
practise ground! All welcome.
If anyone has any news they wish to share, please let me
know on kirsty@hamperley.freeserve.co.uk
as it is always nice to hear what different people have been
up to.
