Today South Shropshire Motorcycle Club has been informed of the passing of J R Evans (Trooper) one of the founder members of the club.
John started as a competitor then as the years went on he helped to organise and officiate at most of our events.
John became an honorary life member of the midlands centre ACU for his dedication to the sport.
John will be sadly missed by all at the club.
It’s confirmed – South Shropshire MCC rider Tom Minta is the 2016 ACU British Expert Champion.
There is still the second and final day of the championship to be held tomorrow by the Edinburgh club but Tom has wrapped up the championship today.
Through the year Tom has been Mr consistent having not been off the podium all year. He has taken the championship ahead of veteran Dan Thorpe.
This is the second British Championship title for the Minta family with sister Alice winning the Girls B Championship earlier in the year.
Well done to both riders and the supporting family! More of the same in 2017 please!

Well, for another year the Long Mynd road trial is over!

A brilliant weekend for South Shropshire MCC rider Tom Minta winning both round 6 and 7 this weekend. This now put’s Tom tied for the championship title with Dan Thorpe.
The video below shows how on form Tom was as he was the only rider to clean this tricky section 11 on all three laps on Saturday at Hook Wood.

Next SSMCC trial is the Long Mynd road trial.
SSMCC’s next club trial will be held on the 22nd May at Ragdon Farm, Ragdon, Church Stretton. Postcode for the event will be SY6 7EZ.
The trial will start at 10:30, will have all the normal routes as well as being a round of the Midlands Centre Youth Championship.
