South Shropshire MCC

Merry Christmas from all at SSMCC. We’re preparing for another good year for the club, we hope you’ll be part of it in 2017!

During 2017 South Shropshire MCC will be hosting the following national, centre and club trials:

A big thank you to the land owner, the observers for standing out in the cold and all the riders. A good entry for such a cold and wet day.

Our next club trial will be held on the 20th November at the Willows, Long Lane, Craven Arms, SY7 8DU. This will be sign posted from the A49 Craven Arms.

This club trial will also be a round of the Midland Centre Youth Championship.

There will be all the normal routes, plus the addition of a route for D-Class including electric bikes.

Start time will be 10:30. Julia will be in attendance with the butty van.

Today South Shropshire Motorcycle Club has been informed of the passing of J R Evans (Trooper) one of the founder members of the club.

John started as a competitor then as the years went on he helped to organise and officiate at most of our events.

John became an honorary life member of the midlands centre ACU for his dedication to the sport.

John will be sadly missed by all at the club.

It’s confirmed – South Shropshire MCC rider Tom Minta is the 2016 ACU British Expert Champion.

There is still the second and final day of the championship to be held tomorrow by the Edinburgh club but Tom has wrapped up the championship today.

Through the year Tom has been Mr consistent having not been off the podium all year. He has taken the championship ahead of veteran Dan Thorpe.

This is the second British Championship title for the Minta family with sister Alice winning the Girls B Championship earlier in the year.

Well done to both riders and the supporting family! More of the same in 2017 please!

Our next club trial will be the last of the year being held in November. Keep an eye on the calendar page and Facebook for more info nearer the time.

Our next club trial will be on Saturday 17th September at 1pm. Please note this is a change in day from previously advertised.

The trial will be held at Hamperley Farm. It will be sign posted from Marshbrooks on the A49.

Julia’s tea van will be in attendance.

Well, for another year the Long Mynd road trial is over!
