Sad passing of Johnny Brittain

South Shropshire MCC would like to pay tribute to the late Johnny Brittain who sadly passed away last Thursday.

In the last few years Johnny along with his brother Pat kindly came to officially start the riders for the Vic Brittain Trial in South Shropshire. The trial named and in memory of his late father who won many events in the 1930’s.

Johnny was born in 1932. From 1948 -1965 Johnny had won many trials including the Scottish Six Day, British Experts, & Scott Trial. Johnny also made 15 appearances in the International Six Day Trial, now the ISDE, winning a total of 13 gold medals in the process.

His most famous machine a Royal Enfield registration HNP 331 is on display in the National Motor Cycle museum in Birmingham, taking rightful place along side many other motorcycles with a lot of history.
